There is of course, a very good reason why my recent entries have been so Potter-orientated. The Order of the Phoenix has truly done more damage to my Potter spirit than I would have ever thought possible. I have yet to this day place a pre-order on the Half Blood Prince much to the absolute shock of everyone. I worry too.
I do not feel the least bit excited about the upcoming Potter installment but in actual fact, I almost fear what it's going to be like. If it is yet another disappointment ala Order of the Phoenix then I'm stopping my loyal patronizing of Rowling's cafe to rewrite my own ending starting from the end of Goblet of Fire. Yay!~ Then Sirius would still be alive. *scowl*
Who wants a copy of my version of the ending of the Potter series? Heehee. No one? Oh well. For my own reading pleasure then!
I just managed to get the most recent GoF flicks and I am disappointed to see the way Harry has grown up to be. He is no longer the pretty young boy I predicted him to grow up to be. He's now, well, not so pretty anymore. *sigh* What a waste of good looks! But at least, he is returning to play Harry in Order of the Phoenix! Still, it's quite sad to see the way he has grown up to be.
Anyway, Pei was pointing out my study environment to me today when she glared at my bed which has Potter books all over. "Studying?" she laughes. "Yeah right. Look at all the Potter books!" Yeah ok! Guilty as charged. Before coming over here to update my blog, I was supposed to be reading my Phase Equilibra but ended up reading The Prisoner of Azkaban instead!
Speaking of Pei, she and I had a rather interesting conversation about one known as Severus Snape. I habour a secret (well, not so secret anymore) crush on Snape. To which Pei replied. "I suspected that. You like guys like that. You know? Villian-ish mysterious but good guys." Although that might not be her exact words but it was somewhere along that lines.
What do you mean I like villian-ish guys??? I'm recalling now my therapist's words on how I like guys with that 'something wrong' factor and the more 'something wrong' the guy is the stronger his appeal is to me. Really???
Oh well... That aside, let's look at Severus Snape shall we? I got this of Mugglenet obviously.
Severus Snape is, on the face of it, a very unpleasant man. He is petty, vindictive, and able to bear grudges for enormous lengths of time. He is universally disliked mainly due to the fact that he is so fundamentally unlikeable.
Yet on the other hand, he is a quite brilliant wizard and potion-maker, a tireless worker for the Order of the Phoenix in the cause against Voldemort at great risk to himself, and a man who is totally and unquestioningly trusted by Dumbledore. And, let us not forget, he is the only man ever to have successfully defected from the ranks of the Death Eaters and got out alive, and having pulled off this trick he followed it up with a good stint of spying for the Order of the Phoenix right under the Dark Lord’s nose.
Snape took the courageous decision to defect from the Death Eaters, used his immense Occlumency skills to hide his true intentions from his former master, and spied for the Order of the Phoenix. Following the break-up of the Death Eaters, Professor Dumbledore was moved to offer Snape a second chance in life and a position teaching at Hogwarts.
It has to be said though, however good Snape is at his subjects, he is a poor teacher.
On the other hand, when Voldemort returned, Snape resumed his work for the Order of the Phoenix, taking on a dangerous and secret mission that has yet to be revealed. Clearly Dumbledore and the rest of the Order trust him enough for that, and it once again illustrates the better parts of Snape’s personality – his bravery and commitment to the cause of good.
Severus Snape has not had an easy path through life, and has taken some brave and difficult decisions on the way. As a teacher, however, it is hardly his duty to take out his bitterness on his students, yet this is exactly what he does. Particularly if the student in question is a certain Harry Potter.
Whoohoo! Brilliant, mysterious, socially inept, intelligent, sarcastic, troubled and difficult. Can there be a more heavenly guy? I LOVE SNAPE. You never know with him. Unpredictable is the word. The absolute trust that Dumbeldore has on him and the way he carries himself with such hate and pride.
Don't you just love the sarcastic, sharp remarks Snape brings out? The viciousness and the wry humour and that oh-so-heavenly mysterious aura that is just part of Severus Snape. Plus, Severus is a very interesting name don't you say?
No doubt, we can't deny Sanpe is a brilliant. He's so brillaint and mysterious and yet sometimes he does things that just makes you want to kick him and kill him so badly. Perfect! And his intelligence that is as undeniable as Sirius' good looks has been incorporated into his character from the very beginning except, sad that it has to be knowledge of the Dark not the Light.
But looking at the Potionetic cover of the Half-Blood Prince, I'm guessing Snape has a great role to play in the newest Potter installment. YAY! Maybe I should be excited after all! SNAPE!
Ok. I'm officially excited. =) I'm going to pre-order my book tomorrow!
